What is Home Lab?

A giant rack mount sever? A old computer? Or just a raspberry pi? For me, a home-lab is a structure that meets the user’s own needs, no matter how comprehensive it is.

My Home Lab Journey.

I started my home-lab journey with an old computer with 2 GB of RAM and a single-core CPU. It sounds funny but at least it was able to run several docker containers, especially Adguard Home. After few month i puchase an Raspberry Pi 4 8GB, and this RasPi still runnig my self-hosted services. Also, it may not count as a home lab but i run 2 4Gb RAM 4 Cpu VPS on the cloud. Until a few months ago, my ISP only provided 100 Mbps download/50 Mbps upload. Sometimes, this speed causes a bottleneck in internet connection, but with the new infrastructure works, I got 1Gbps symmetrical internet. Maybe I’m too lucky about an internet connection.
